IRS Golf League Outing – A.J. Jolly Golf Course

Here is hoping everyone enjoyed this year’s Outing.  Thanks go to Team Anderson (Brian Anderson, Mark Halpin, Tim Feldman, and Ed Miller) and assistance by Bill Zachritz, Chuck Reckers, and Cecil Begley on set up and planning the Outing.  Again this year Team Anderson arrived at the course at 8 a.m. to set up the registration table, door prizes, and ensure everything was ready to go.  A little rain delay changed the start time but we were able to get the Awards and Business Meeting completed ahead of time.  Luckily we had no rain while out on the course.  Thanks to Treasurer Chuck Reckers for being on hand to finish up the payments and other finances to speed up the registration.  Again this year Mark Halpin with his computer got the scores posted and ready for presentation while almost missing dinner.  My special thanks to the Outing Committee (Brian Anderson, Mark Halpin, Tim Feldman, Ed Miller), President Tom Schumacher, Treasurer Chuck Reckers, all regulars, subs, and guest for another great Outing.  And a special thanks to Farlon Smith (unable to attend the Outing) for the door prizes he was able to donate from Beechmont Toyota (Reds tickets, FC Cincinnati tickets, Hats, and Mugs).  For those who had dinner I hope everyone enjoyed their meal,  Express Catering served an excellent meal.  And let us all thank Terry Jolly and his crew for having a wonderful course and their excellence in servicing our needs on the course.

Over the years Jim has helped the league with Outing events and planning dinners for the Outing.  Jim is frequently helping with league activities during the regular season.  He is always cheerful on the course and a pleasure to play with or against.

Jerry Joesting Most Valuable Player Award winner.

Congratulations go to Toni Brewer and Chuck Reckers, the Jerry Joesting Most Valuable Player award co-winners.   

Toni Brewer - member of Team Patmann (#3 Seed), helped lead her team to the play-offs.  (W/L: 13 - 3, pts: 12.3 & improved average).              

Chuck Reckers - member of Team Kientz, helped lead his team to the play-offs (W/L: 13 - 2, pts: 13.1, and improved average). 

Both were so close on most-improved average, most wins, and highest point average.
