Frank, Mary Jo, and Don had a flat tire on their way to the course and made it to the course just in time.  They did have Jake worried that he would have to take on Team Donlin by himself.

I think Mary Jo was able to change the tire before Frank & Don could find the instructions.

This match was close and decided by 3 strokes.  Team Donlin mustered more individual points but could not out do Team Leirey for Team Medal.

Some of the highlights of this match:

Frank Leirey shoots a 41 (getting 1 stroke) vs. Ray Vaughn’s 44.  Frank wins by 4 strokes.

Don Potter shoots 42 (birdie on #6) (giving 1 stroke) vs. Steve Duddey’s 42.  Steve wins by 1 stroke.

Mary Jo Leirey shoots 42 (birdie on #4)(getting 2 strokes) vs. Mike Donlin’s 42 (birdie on #5).  Mary Jo wins by 2 strokes.

Jake Job-Rivera shoots 48 (getting 2 strokes) vs. Eddie Gregory’s 44 (birdie on #5).  Eddie wins by 2 strokes.

Final results:  Team Leirey wins team medal by 3 strokes and match.

Yellow highlighted are holes that there were Skins.  There were 3 skins (each for 2 points).

Greenies and Long Putt were for 1 point each.

The skins/greenie/long putt pot had $260 in it.  $10 was added from the Eagle pot to round out the pot to $270.  There were 9 points awarded ($270 / 9 = $30 per point)

There was one no-show leaving Team J. Witt’s C player (Garry Melish) to hit 2 balls each hole.

Congratulations to Team Arkle (Greg Arkle, Joe Devereux, Ed Miller, Toni Brewer) for winning 1st place in the Scramble.

Here is hoping everyone enjoyed playing in the Westcott/Donlin scramble format.   See you all at the Outing.

Heard in the Clubhouse:

Mary Jo Leirey commented “Joe Devereux’s nuts are by far better than Frank’s nuts.”  Putter to be determined.

Bill Brewer “I don’t know who is playing with my wife tonight.”

Toni Brewer commented to Mark Halpin something about her two foot is longer than a man’s, in man’s inches.

Next up is the Outing at A.J. Jolly Golf Course on September 11. Shot-gun start at 10 a.m.

Get the word out to your subs to contact Brian Anderson or Charles Halpin if they wish to play in the Outing.  Subs and guest are welcome to play.
