THOUGHT
FOR THE WEAK!!!
“Study
as if you were going to live forever; live as if you were going to die
tomorrow.” Maria Mitchell
WHO
IS MARIA MITCHELL?
She
was born on August 1, 1818, and is the first female professional
astronomer in the United States. Born in
Nantucket, Massachusetts, she pursued her interest in astronomy with
encouragement from her parents and the use of her father’s telescope. In October 1847, she discovered a comet,
which became known as “Miss Mitchell’s Comet.”
The next year, the pioneering stargazer became the first woman admitted
to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
She went on to become a professor of astronomy at Vassar College.
THE JEEP!!!
On August 1, 2041,
the first Jeep, the Army’s little truck that could do anything, was produced. The American Bantam Car Company developed the
working prototype in just 49 days.
General Dwight D. Eisenhower said that the Allies could not have won
World War II without it. Because Bantam
couldn’t meet the army’s production demands, other companies, including Ford,
also started producing Jeeps.
Now here’s the
Question??? How did the Jeep get its
name???
Question of the
Weak???
This bawdy
American actress of stage and screen said, “Between two evils, I always pick
the one I’ve never tried before.” Who is
she???

have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to
write in their names. $3.00 entry fee
for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt. Place a check mark for each category for which
you are participating. If the Briefcase
