Position Round #3

Believe it or not we were able to get all regular season rounds in this year.  No rain-outs.  Still to come August 26 Wild-Card Play-offs then Semi-Final/Finals and Scramble are set for August 31.

Scramble:

The Scramble is scheduled for August 31 and will be on the front nine.  Format is the same as last year, two person best ball, Two scores posted for each team.  Scramble Chairman is Jim Westcott.  Jim will have tee times set up and sent out to all along with the Scramble format.  This is a paid week so regulars if unable to make it please find a sub before scramble so they can be placed on a team.  Tee times are set for 2:45, 2:54, 3:03, 3:12, 3:21, 3:30, 3:39, 3:48, 3:57, 4:06, 4:15, 4:24, 4:33, and 4:42.

This week we had 8 subs:  Mike Schwarberg (Team Kientz), Steve Ruehl, Melody Oswalt, and Shari Anderson (Team Freeman), Larry Oliver (Team Kiffmeyer), Jeff Witt (Team Halpin), Jeff Barnhorst (Team Schumacher), and Ken Holloway (Team Flynn).

Good rounds this week:

Front 9 – Bill Zachritz – 36, Mark Caporale – 37, Steve Ruehl - 38; Back 9 – Ray Vaughn - 39.

Most Under Average (Sandbagger Award):  Shari Anderson (9.3 under average), Bill Zachritz (5.6 under average), Dale Goodwin (5.5 under average), Dale Schaber (5.2 under average).

Most Over Average (Hope to be a Sandbagger Some Day Award):  Mike Breen (6.8 over average), .

Gift match of the weak:  Team Halpin gets this for crumbling to Team Kiffmeyer.  Team Kiffmeyer wins by enough points to take Division lead away from Team Halpin.

Division Rankings

A Division – Defending Champs Team Schumacher with a win moves into the #2 seed position and gets their bye for the play-offs.  Team Flynn moved up in the Division but too late.  Team Donlin falls to third followed by Team Leirey.

B Division – Team Kiffmeyer did a number on Team Halpin and takes over division lead by 3 points and the #4 seed position.  Team Halpin falls to second followed by Team Buescher and Team Harms.

C Division - Team Zachritz still on a roll maintains their lead and #1 seed.  Team Kientz managed to maintain their #5 seed position.  Team Bramlage struggled but did keep their #6 seeding.

D Division – Team Patmann even after losing was able to maintain their division lead and #3 seed.  Team Anderson came up 1.5 points shy.  Team Breen comes in third and Team Pfeiffer fourth.

Seeding:  (1) Team Zachritz, (2) Team Schumacher, (3) Team Patmann, (4) Team Kiffmeyer, (5) Team Kientz, (6) Team Bramlage.  Wild Card Play-off is scheduled for August 26 (Seed #3 Patmann vs. Seed #6 Bramlage & Seed #4 Kiffmeyer vs. Seed #5 Kientz.

Heard around the clubhouse:

Question was ‘Who is that guy?’  Oh that is Mr. Bill Zachritz.

Update on the informant wagers on league champion (note that the informant was kind of quiet this week):  The bookies in New Jersey still show Team Zachritz as the favorite.  The bookies in Vegas are still showing Team Kientz as the favorite.  The bookies at Keeneland are starting to change their odds on Team Schumacher (???).  And this fresh in: the back room bookies in Florida all showing Team Patmann as the favorite to win with the Brewers in control.

No change to the League President still thinking Team Schumacher will win the trophy.  The League Treasurer and the League Scramble Committee Chairman (he may be absent from the scramble) are still planning on Team Kientz winning the trophy.  Then the League Outing Committee lost all their wagers and are now just planning for the Outing.  The League Secretary from what I heard is packing his bags and heading to the moon.

Thoughts for the Weak

What if I didn’t 3 putt???????

What if I used the driver instead of the 5 iron?????

And the following from Mr. Tim Feldman:

How To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity in RETIREMENT...

1.

At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on, point a hair dryer at passing cars, and watch them slow down!

2.

On all your check stubs, write, 'For Marijuana'!

3.

Skip down the street rather than walk, and see how many looks you get.

4.

With a serious face, order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat.

5.

Sing along at The Opera.

6.

When the money comes out of the ATM, scream 'I Won! I Won!'

7.

When leaving the Zoo, start running towards the car park, yelling, 'Run For Your Lives! They're Loose!'

8.

Tell your children over dinner, 'Due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go!'

9.

Pick up a box of condoms at the pharmacy, go to the counter and ask where the fitting room is.

And The Final Way To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity:  My Favorite...

10.

Go to a large Department store’s fitting room, drop your drawers to your ankles and yell out, "HEY, there’s no paper in here!"
