Wisconsin Scramble

Tee times are listed on the August 27 Weekly News.

August 27th is the scramble and all league members have already paid their greens fees for this night. As such, Chuck will be paying California 64 greens fees for that night.

1) For the semi-finalists, the League will pay your semi-final (front 9) greens fees. You will pay California the marginal fee for the extra nine holes and cart fee, if applicable. Ultimately, you will be playing 18 holes on the 27th, either as a finalist on the back nine or a scrambler on the front nine. (Note: the 9 hole gift certificate can be used for the extra 9 holes)

2) For the other 12 league teams, your greens fees for the scramble have been paid to the League already. All you need to do is pay the course for cart fee, if applicable.

3) We have one Team of Subs playing in the Scramble. They will need to pay their green fees to the course.

4) Skins, greenies, and putt contests will be handled like a regular league night. Skins will be on a Team basis.

Outing:

The date is Friday, September 5, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Power carts will be included in the cost of the outing, as well as sandwiches at the turn and beverages on the course.

The costs for the outing are as follows:

Regulars

Golf, Cart, Lunch and Door prizes - $50

Golf, Cart, Lunch, Door prizes, and Dinner - $66

Subs

Golf, Cart, Lunch and Door prizes - $60

Golf, Cart, Lunch, Door prizes, and Dinner - $76

Contests

Skins - $5

Greenies - $3

Putts - $2

For the regulars, Chuck has placed a check-off list in the clear money pouches detailing the amounts you owe for the outing and contests entered. Approximately, half the league has credits on their account that resulted from the rain-outs. These lists detail the net amounts owed by each member of the league.

Please review these lists and write a check for Golf, Dinner (if applicable). Skins (if applicable), Greenies (if applicable), and putts (if applicable). Please date the check for September 5, 2014, and place in the clear money pouches on August 20th or August 27th. Chuck will deposit all checks on September 6, 2014.

Having all regulars pay in advance prior to the outing would be very helpful and appreciated. Subs playing in the outing can pay Chuck at A.J. Jolley on September 5th. Payments on September 5th can be in cash and are actually preferred for same day payments.

If you have any questions, please contact Chuck at 513-368-1612.

Any Subs wishing to play, please contact Charles Halpin at 859-282-0598 or by e-mail at halpinc@aol.com.

Tidbits of information:

Congratulations go to Jim Westcott for getting a hole-in-one this past week at Hickory Sticks Golf Course on Hole #16. Jim has been trying for this for 43 years and has finally done it. Congratulations Jim!!!

From League President Tom Schumacher:

If you've ever worked for a boss who reacts before getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love this!

Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning against a wall.

The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business.

He asked the guy, "How much money do you make a week?"

A little surprised, the young man looked at him and said, "I make $400 a week. Why?"

The CEO said, "Wait right here."

He walked back to his office, came back in two minutes, and handed the guy $1,600 in cash and said, "Here's four weeks' pay. Now GET OUT and don't come back."

Feeling pretty good about himself the CEO looked around the room and asked, "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?"

From across the room a voice said, "Pizza delivery guy from Domino's.
