IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

August 13, 2014

What a week.  There were some big changes in Division leaders this week as the competition has really heated up.  There were some very good rounds and overall there were 18 Birdies.  Good rounds on the front nine were Tom Schumacher with a 36, Mike Donlin with a 37, Ray Vaughn with a 38, Will Freeman and Larry Oliver with a 39.  On the back nine were Jeff Witt with a 37 and Ray Woods with a 39.  I do have to mention that I shot my lowest game ever, a 43, eleven under my average, hope I can do that again.

Some of the big changes this week were in A Division as Team C.Halpin moved up to lead the Division and moved into #2 seed.  Team Donlin moved up to second in Division and into 5th seed with Team Zachritz moving down to 3rd and into 6th seed.  There is only 8 points separating the three.   In B Division Team Kiffmeyer got knocked into 2nd with Team Schumacher moving into 1st with 1.5 points separating the two.  The league president was attempting to call a rain out for next week but Team Kiffmeyer protested and will pray for fair weather.  In C Division Team Bramlage still holds the lead, but fell to 3rd seed.  Team Bunkelman moved up to 14 points out of lead with Team Flynn not too far back.  D Division sees Team Anderson (purple shirts) with a comfortable lead and still the #1 seed.  Team Leirey fell out of seed, but both Team Leirey and Team Harms are still within reach of a wild card spot.   With position round next week I suspect there could be some big changes.

 Current Leaders:

A Division – Team Halpin (2nd seed)

B Division – Team Schumacher (4th seed)

C Division – Team Bramlage (3rd seed)

D Division – Team Anderson (1st seed)

Current Wildcards – Team Donlin (5th seed) & Team Zachritz (6th seed)

League Semi-Finals, Finals, and Scramble will be on August 27.  Tee Times for Semi-Finals will start at 11:54 a.m. on the front nine.  Finals need to be off the back nine prior to 3:30 p.m.  Tee Times for the Scramble will start at 2:27 p.m. on the front nine.

Status of the Fork:  With position round coming up the Fork has been put away.  Good luck to all teams, especially Team C.Halpin.  As for Team Schumacher, Team Kiffmeyer will play even if a hurricane sits on top of the course.

Summary of Teams Forked:  Team Schumacher (week 8 should have been week 1), Team Patmann (week 10), Team Kientz (week 12), Team Breen (week 13), Team Freeman (week 14), Team Kiffmeyer (week 14), and Team Pfeiffer (week 14).

There were 9 subs this week.  Subs were Diana Buelow, Will Freeman, E.John Thomas, Mike Schwarberg, Dan Varndell, Melody Oswalt, Jeff Witt, Jason Studebaker, and Ray Woods.  Thanks for being there.

Again we had one no-show this week.  If you have troubles locating a sub get in contact with me and I can get you names and numbers to call.  Also, let your subs know who to contact in the league.

From President Tom Schumacher:

Happiness

They're not happy in Gaza ..

They're not happy in Egypt ..

They're not happy in Libya ..

They're not happy in Morocco ...

They're not happy in Iran ..

They're not happy in Iraq ..

They're not happy in Yemen ...

They're not happy in Afghanistan ..

They're not happy in Pakistan ...

They're not happy in Syria ..

They're not happy in Lebanon ...

SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?

They're happy in Australia ..

They're happy in Canada ..

They're happy in England ..

They're happy in France ..

They're happy in Italy ..

They're happy in Germany ..

They're happy in Sweden ..

They're happy in the USA ..

They're happy in Norway ..

They're happy in Holland ..

They're happy in Denmark ..

Basically, they're happy in every country that is

NOT MUSLIM and unhappy in every country that is!

AND WHO DO THEY BLAME?

Not Islam.

Not their leadership.

Not themselves.

THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!

AND THEN; They want to change those countries to be like,

THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY!

Excuse me, but I can't help wondering...

How d----- dumb can you get?

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim

Terrorists are so quick to commit suicide.

Lets have a look at the evidence:

- No television

- No nude women

- No football

- No hot dogs

- No burgers

- No beer

- Rags for clothes

- Towels for hats

- Constant wailing from some idiot in a tower

- More than one wife

- More than one mother-in-law

- You can't shave

- Your wife can't shave

-- Your wife is picked by someone else for you

- Then they tell them that, "when they die, it all gets better"??

Well No Shit Sherlock!....

It's not like it could get much worse!

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams please bring markers in.
