This week we had 9 subs:  Diana Buelow (Team Patmann), Dave Spaeth (Team Breen), Carol Goldstone (Team Freeman), Jeff Witt & Bob Kendrach (Team Halpin), Bill Holocher & Greg Arkle (Team Harms), Terry Buelow (Team Kiffmeyer), Melody Oswalt (Team Leirey).

Good rounds this week:

Front 9 – Mark Halpin – 39, Jim Westcott - 39; Back 9 – Ray Vaughn - 36, Steve Duddey - 39.

Most Under Average (Sandbagger Award):  Jake Job Rivera (6.7 under average), Gene Pfeiffer (6.0 under average), Dale Schaber (5.7 under average), Ron Michael (5.1 under average), Steve Duddey (5.0 under average).

Most Over Average (Hope to be a Sandbagger Some Day Award):  Dave Spaeth (9.6 over average), Dave Gindele (8.9 over average), Rafael Gonzalez (8.6 over average), Pat Breen (6.8 over average), Chris Kerns (6.1 over average), Diana Buelow (5.5 over average).

Gift match of the weak:  This has to be the match between Team Buescher and Team Halpin.  Team Halpin with 2 subs (Jeff Witt & Bob Kendrach) lost terribly bad.  1st off Jeff Witt could not continue play after 6 holes (elbow gave out, hope he gets better) and Don Buescher takes a big win.  2nd Rafael Gonzalez loses his match vs. Wayne Witt (I think Wayne had something to do with his brothers elbow) by a whopping 13 strokes.  Charlie Halpin shoots 1.3 over average vs. Pat Buescher getting one stroke and shoots 4 under average (motivated by who will buy the beer) which pretty much finished off Team Halpin. Greg Linfert shot just one over average but loses to Bob Kendrach shooting 4 under average.  Team Buescher’s comments:  Censored.

Division Rankings

A Division – Defending Champs Team Schumacher (3rd seed) still remains division leader but lost even more ground this week.   Team Leirey is still in 2nd place and only 52.5 points out of 1st.  Team Donlin started gaining momentum and are only 65.5 points out of 1st and could possibly (even though forked) have a chance at Division.  Team Flynn brings in 4th (93.5 points out) and could still cause havoc in the division.

B Division - Team Halpin got a spanking but somehow remains the #2 seed (my rain dance didn’t work).  Team Kiffmeyer gained some ground here and is within reach of Division lead (87 points out).  Team Buescher started making their run (maybe too late) and gained some ground on the leader (128.5 points out) and needs a miracle to make division lead.   Team Harms comes in 4th and finally took their place at the top of the upside down list.

C Division - Team Zachritz took a whooping but remains in the lead and 1st seed.  Team Kientz (5th seed) took a small win and are only 27.5 points out of the lead.  Team Bramlage (6th seed) took a big win and gained a lot of ground on the lead (only 79.5 points out).  Team Freeman brings in 4th and is ready for the Scramble but can still pose a danger to the leaders.

D Division – Team Anderson (the shirts) with a big win took over the lead and a 4th seed position.  Team Patmann falls to second (7.5 points out).  Team Breen falls to 96 points out of lead and would need a miracle to catch the lead.  Team Pfeiffer finally got themselves off the top of the upside down list and can still pose a problem in the final 2 weeks.

Comments:  The Captain of Team Halpin was seen doing a rain dance hoping to not lose their #2 seed position.  Team Anderson has their sights on moving into the #3 or #2 seed position.  Team Zachritz is hoping that Team Halpin’s rain dance works.  Team Schumacher is hoping that the playoffs will come before collapsing any further.  The secretary will definitely be doing some more rain dances.

Seeding:  (1) Team Zachritz, (2) Team Halpin, (3) Team Schumacher, (4) Team Anderson, (5) Team Kientz, (6) Team Bramlage.   Wild Card Play-off is scheduled for August 26 (Seed #3 vs Seed #6 & Seed #4 vs Seed #5.  Tee times to be determined after position round.

Status of the almighty Fork:  Team Anderson – week 5; Team Pfeiffer – week 7; Team Freeman – week 9; Team Flynn – week 13; Team Harms – week 13: Team Donlin – week 14; Team Buescher – week 14.

Heard around the clubhouse:

Ed Kiffmeyer was at the clubhouse (must have been to motivate his team) and is still working on recuperating.  He did say he would be at the Outing but not playing golf yet.

I almost left out mentioning Mr. Bill Zachritz name.  So here it is, I didn’t what him to feel neglected.

And some thoughts to ponder from Mr. Tim Feldman:

HISTORIC ELECTION:  If Hillary wins, it will be first time in US history that two US Presidents have slept together.
If Donald wins, it will be first time that a billionaire moved into public housing vacated by a black family…

And the following from Hank Borge through Tim Feldman:

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt.  For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names.  $5.00 entry fee for all games ($3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt).  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams in please bring markers in.

Sorry Bill nothing to add here except your name (Mr. Bill Zachritz).  For all your trouble you win a sleeve of invisible golf balls.

Note:  Anyone reading this far down is very thorough or a government employee at work Mr. Kerns.
