IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 15 – August 4, 2021

A big Congratulations goes to Kevin Bachmann on shooting 5 under par ‘30’ on the back nine.  Five Birdies (hole #10, #11, #15, #17, and #18 with a 180 lip out on #16 for par).  From my history with this league and what I could find from others, this was a record for the League.

Get well wishes to League Treasurer Chuck Reckers, get well soon and hurry back.

We received the 9 hole gift certificates from the course.  Team pouches for each Team will be in the briefcase.  Cards are for the 4 regulars on each team and good for use at California Golf Course.

The League Outing is scheduled for September 10 at A.J. Jolly Golf Course.  From preliminary information from A.J. Jolly we will most likely have tee times again this year.  (Shot gun start would require at least 100 golfers.)  Estimated cost will be between $55 to $60 which will include golf, cart, lunch, soft drinks, water, and goodie bag.  No determination has been made on whether to have dinner which would be additional cost.  If all league members can check with their friends/relatives/co-workers to find more players maybe we can get our numbers up to have a shot gun start.

Subs this week were:  Mike Schwarberg (for Team Kientz); new sub Dave Machan (for Team Zachritz); Jeff Witt (for Team Buescher); Dave Vincent (for Team Breen); Quintin Suggs (for Team Breen); Jeff Barnhorst (for Team Breen); Shari Anderson (for Team Harms); Mark Finnegan (for Team Harms); and Mary Jo Leirey (for Team Hill).   Thanks for being there.
