IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter
Week 14 – July 29, 2015
Rain/Lightning delay…., play…., rain/lightning delay…., play…. Last teams finished as it was getting
dark. You got to love the game of golf.
A Division still has Team Buescher in the lead and holding
on to #3 Seed. Team Zachritz was gifted
85 points this week and moved up in division and into #6 seed. Team Anderson (defending league champs) took
a whooping and dropped out of seeding, but not by much. Team Kiffmeyer lost ground this week and
doesn’t have much time left.
B Division has Team Donlin still sitting comfortably in the
lead and the #4 Seed. Team Pfeiffer lost
ground again. Team Freeman moved up with
Team Bramlage moving to the bottom.
C Division has Team Leirey in the lead but dropping to #2
seed. Team Schumacher had a big win and
moved into the #5 seed. Team Patmann had
a good win and is within striking distance of a wild card spot. Team Harms holds the bottom here but still has
a chance but not much time remains.
D Division has Team Flynn winning big and moving up to #1
seed by half a point. Team Kientz with a
big win is only 3 points away from a wild card spot. Team Halpin with another big loss saw their season
pass them by. Team Breen at the bottom can
only be a spoiler at this point.
Current seeding (with 4 weeks left, all inner division):
#1 Seed – Team Flynn, #2 Seed – Team Leirey, #3 Seed – Team Buescher,
#4 Seed Team Donlin, #5 Seed – Team Schumacher, #6 Seed – Team Zachritz.
This past week we had 5 subs. Subs this week were Carol Goldstone, Larry
Oliver, Dave Randle, Will Freeman, and Dave Vincent.
Good rounds this week
were: Front – Don Potter – 37 and Larry
Oliver 37. Back – Dave Randle – 37 and
Will Freeman – 39.
Most under average at 5+ under average: Carol Goldstone shoots 44 (5.3 under
average), Rick Taylor shoots 46 (6.4 under average), Tom Nienaber shoots 42
(5.1 under average), Will Freeman shoots 39 (5.2 under average), Cecil Begley
shoots 40 (5.0 under average), and Erich Kientz shoots 42 (6.7 under average).
There were 12 Birdies this week, 6 on the front and 6 on the
back.
Gift match this week is the match between Team Buescher and
Team Halpin. Team Halpin falls under
extreme pressure to Team Buescher. Both
captains went head to head on this match with Mr. Don Buescher being
victorious. After this match the secretary
was under influence from Team Captain Halpin to not fork anyone. So well, okay, why not, so I will do it, Team
Halpin is hereby forked (at least not the pitchfork like Team #5). There, I went and did it, ouch.
League
Outing will be on September 11. Get the
word out to your subs/guest so we can get a count on how many will be playing
and having dinner. Cost this year will
be:

Scramble will on September 2. I am told
that Jim Westcott will be getting the format out on this in the near future.

Was hoping to get the next 10 states but Mr. Schu did not get them to me. We should have them by next week. Probably Mr. Schu can’t find anything for Ohio.

Skins—Greenies—Long
Putt
Most of the regulars and subs in the
league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each
week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse. The sheet will have the names of all the
regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee
for Greenies; and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt ($5.00
for all). Place a check mark for
each category for which you are participating.
If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play
and pay when you complete your match. First teams out please take the markers,
last teams in please bring markers in.
