IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter
Week 13 – July 17, 2024
Another week that we were lucky to miss a rainout. Just a light sprinkle. Let us hope no more threats of rain on Wednesdays.
The subs playing this week: Terry Boland (Team Bachmann), Dave Martin (r) (Team Flynn), Jeff Barnhorst (Team Crouch), Bill Scott (Team Halpin/Scott), Don Bazsika (Team Bill Anderson), Mike Ruff (Team Kientz). Currently only one sub is eligible for playing in the playoffs.
This week Team Crouch played vs the vacant team and stumbled badly. Next week Team Vaughn will compare scores vs either team 4, 8, or 12.
Heard Around, Happened Around, or Just Plain Made Up Info from Around the Clubhouse: The League secretary disavows any knowledge of erroneous or false information in this section of the newsletter. If there is something you wish to complain about see the gripe committee: Mr. Bill Zachritz or Mr. Mike Breen. They will take any issues to the men’s room where they will discuss it with the Man-in-the-Mirror. Please don’t anticipate any resolution.
- Something about baby blue colored shorts this week.
- Congratulations to Team Vaughn as their recap sheet was 100% perfect this week.
- Something about Team Ellsworth new nickname being “Team Buzzsaw” as they are taking down team after team on the vacant pull. I think that is what I saw on my not dumb device.
- Seems someone left a club on number 13 in front of the hole. It did prevent another player in the next group from possibly getting closest to the pin. This caused quite a conundrum for the player involved. Recommendation is if you are going to leave a club on the green, please put it behind the hole and not in front.
Question for the Weak/Thoughts to Ponder for the Weak

Status of the Almighty Fork:
The Warning went out and looking at team performance there were several teams Forked without warning. Team Bachmann, Team Crouch, and Team Broadus have been Forked. Team Ellsworth, Team Bill Anderson, and Team Zachritz made it through another week but are still on the warning of the Fork. Then I had a hard time finally admitting that Team Halpin/Scott being on top of the upside down points list is finished and officially Forked. The Fork is totally discretionary at the secretary’s whims, team performance, and looking at possibility of teams making the playoffs. Once Forked there is no un-forking.
Forked Teams:
Team Brian Anderson – Week 12
Team Flynn – Week 12
Team Bachmann – Week 13
Team Crouch – Week 13
Team Broadus – Week 13
Team Halpin/Scott – Week 13
