IRS Wednesday Golf
League Newsletter
Week
12 – July 10, 2024
Week 12 complete and we were lucky to miss
any rain outs. Let’s hope this continues
for the rest of the season.
The subs playing this week: Bill Scott (Team Halpin/Scott), Joe Bramlage
(Team Bramlage), Tom Schumacher (Team Ellsworth), Bob Norris and Don Bazsika
(Team Bachmann), Dave Martin (Team Flynn), Sherrill Swann and Scott Dorstin
(Team Bill Anderson).
This week Team Ellsworth played vs the
vacant team. Being position round they
compared scores against 2nd place team in D Division and did well. Next week Team Crouch will compare scores vs either
team 4, 8, or 12.
Heard
Around, Happened Around, or Just Plain Made Up Info from Around the Clubhouse: The League secretary
disavows any knowledge of erroneous or false information in this section of the
newsletter.
-
Joe
Bramlage wanting his score card to frame after shooting a 37, his lowest round
ever.
-
Sticking
with the Bramlage’s: Jim Bramlage wearing pink shorts or was that his wife’s
pink skorts, I think that is what I heard.
Maybe he should remember which dresser drawer is his.
-
Super
Sandbagger Dennis Breen finally finding his swing/game and shooting 15.4 under
his average.
-
Most
honest player: Don Buescher the day
after round informs secretary to add a stroke on hole #3 that he forgot to
count. Cost him half a point.
-
Dale
(Eagle) Goodwin having no Eagle this week and shooting way over his
average. Must be prepping for the next
Eagle.

Position Round Results
League Secretary was the only one to pick
all 8 winners of the position round and receives 2 dozen top brand name new
golf balls.
In A Division Team Vaughn took the lead
dropping Team Bachmann down to second and out of Seeding. The defending League Champs Team Flynn falls
to 4th place as they were defeated by Team Crouch.
In B Division Team Buescher remains in 1st
and #3 Seed as they defeated Team Broadus who dropped to 3rd
place. Team Brian Anderson moved up to 2nd
even after being defeated by Team Halpin/Scott.
In C Division Team Kientz moved into 1st
place and #1 Seed after defeating Team Kiffmeyer who remains in 2nd
place and #5 Seed. Team Harms remains in
3rd place as Team Bill Anderson brings in 4th place.
In Division D Team Zachritz remains in 1st
place but dropped to #2 Seed after Team Bramlage defeated them. Team Ellsworth remains at the bottom although
they compared scores and took a win. The
Vacant Team looks as if it may not make the playoffs.
Status of the
Almighty Fork:
The
Warning went out and it seemed to delay the Fork to several teams but brought
the Fork to others. Team Brian Anderson
was defeated by the worst team (Team Halpin/Scott) so Team
Brian Anderson is hereby Forked.
Defending League Champs Team Flynn after dropping to 4th in
their Division is hereby Forked. The
‘Fork’ is extra sharpened and ready for next week. On the warning list is Team Halpin/Scott, Team
Ellsworth, Team Bill Anderson, and Team Zachritz. The Fork is totally discretionary at the
secretary’s whims and looking at possibility of teams making the playoffs.
Forked
Teams:
Team Brian Anderson – Week 12
Team Flynn – Week 12
