IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

July 9, 2014

What a fine day on the course for some.  Not the best for me but the weather was beautiful.  This week was the make-up from the June 4 rainout.  There are five regular weeks and one position round left and no more rainout dates.  So let’s hope the weather is good for the rest of the season.

There are still three players that owe golf fees.  Team Donlin, Team Breen, and Team Bramlage have one player each that still owe.  Please bring to course next week.  If anyone has any questions, please contact Treasurer Chuck Reckers at 513-368-1612.

There were some changes to division leaders this past week as the competition heats up.  Team Zachritz took the lead in A Division.  Team Kiffmeyer extended their lead in B Division.  Team Bramlage took the lead in C Division.  Team Anderson extended their lead in D Division and also took the lead in league points.

Current Leaders:

A Division – Team Zachritz (2nd seed)

B Division – Team Kiffmeyer (4th seed)

C Division – Team Bramlage (3rd seed)

D Division – Team Anderson (1st seed)

Current Wildcards – Team Leirey (5th seed) & Team Donlin (6th seed)

As always I have to mention Forked Team Schumacher.  Team captain was out of town (Massanutten Resort) and nutten happened here.  The fork is looking more like they might be overdone.  Team Freeman did pass Team Schumacher and again dodged the Fork this week, but the ice is cracking beneath them.  Team Harms saved themselves from the fork and there still is hope from them.  Team Kientz did well this week but I think it is time to Fork them anyway.   And Team Patmann, what can I say, if you turn the list up-side-down they are at the top.  Teams on notice of possibly getting Forked:  All teams in B Division (????), Team C.Halpin (come on I can’t fork myself), Team Flynn, Team Harms, and Team Pfeiffer.

Summary of Teams Forked:  Team Schumacher (week 8), Team Patmann (week 10), Team Kientz (week 12).

There were 2 subs this week.  Subs were Mike Schwarberg, and Will Freeman.  Thanks for being there.

"Thoughts of the Weak" (from League President Thomas G. Schumacher)

(I didn’t get any answers to this so I will leave it out there another week.)

What can you find in Manila that you can't find in Tokyo???

Some more things from Mr. Schumacher:

The Great Disappearing Act

The message on the downtown billboard read "I'm pregnant, John".

This was the night every John in town suddenly disappeared.

Uniforms

Senators should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we can identify their corporate sponsors.

Words of WisDumb from Mr. Feldman:

This is were things got fuzzy at the clubhouse.  Seems to be Mr. Feldman did not wear his team shirt (purple) this week.  Not for sure if I got anything straight from him, but the following seems to have come from Mr. Feldman’s actions.

Per Toni Brewer, July 16 is purple panty week.  All players will wear purple panties; thongs are optional, since they chaff Bill.  Kelli, the course barkeeper, will be checking for proof of the purple panties.  The secretary left after this when I realized I had stayed tooooo long at the clubhouse.

And a few things I received over e-mail this past winter:

As I have grown older:

I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,

but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Condoms don’t guarantee safe sex anymore…..

A friend of mine was wearing one when he was shot by the woman’s husband.

And one more note for anyone matched against Mr. Buelow.  Watch out for his bag of magic tricks.  Seems to be every hole he was going to his bag of magic tricks and pulling something out.  For some reason I wound up shooting my worst round and he shot very well against me.  I did try to check to see what he had in the bag but he had to take something out before I could look.  Not for sure if he had a voodoo doll in there or some kind of magic dust.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams please bring markers in.
