Treasurer Chuck Reckers reports that there are still 8 outstanding on league fees.  For those that owe 2nd half fee is $148.50, remember to bring next week.  Pouches will be in the briefcase to put checks in (payable to IRS Golf League).  Chuck thanks those that are paid in full.  Questions concerning the fees please contact Chuck at email: cmjrecke@gmail.com.

This week we had 8 subs:  Carol Goldstone (for Team Patmann), Kelly Johnson (for Team Halpin, Bob Kendrach (for Team Halpin), Steve Ruehl (for Team Bramlage), Don (Paladin) Bazsika (for Team Buescher), Larry Oliver (for Team Breen), and new subs Brian Kelly (for Team Anderson), Tim Jahnke (for Team Slye).  Thanks for being there.

Good rounds this week were:

Front – Ray Vaughn – 36, Mark Halpin – 39.

Back – Mark Slye – 36, Boyd Marley – 39.

Match of the Weak:

This week I would have to say the match between my team, Team Halpin vs. Team Schumacher.  We mixed up the line-up this week, had A & C players go out together and B & D players go out.  Seems both opposing team captains rode in the same cart, while the other cart had husband & wife (opposing teams) highly not recommended.  Seems the League President and League Secretary played together for the first time and maybe last time.  Only one assassination attempt on the president, but that can’t be proven.  I will say if you ever ride with Col. Schu watch when he gets out of the cart on a hill and says he forgot to put the brake on while you are still in the cart.  Outcome of the match was not good for Team Halpin (the presidential powers excelled).

From Mr. Feldman for Next Week:  What is worse a Slye Breen, or a Leirey Halpin.  My answer: only what Harms Anderson.

Sandbaggers of the Weak: (5.0 greater or less):

Most Under Average:

Ed Kiffmeyer shoots 41 (8.7 under average), Mark Halpin shoots 39 (5.4 under average), Tim Feldman shoots 42 (5.3 under average), Eddie Gregory shoots 42 (5.3 under average).

Most Over Average:

Eric Fredrickson shoots 55 (7.6 over average), Frank Leirey shoots 51 (7.1 over average), Charlie (I made the newsletter again) Halpin shoots 53 (5.3 over average), Lori Johnson shoots 61 (5.0 over average).

Status of the Almighty Fork:

Week 6 - Team Schumacher.

Week 9 – Team Freeman, Team Patmann, Team Breen.

More will be added after position round 2, maybe.

Division Standings:

o   Division A sees defending Champs Team Bramlage still holding the lead but dropping to 4th Seed.  Team Kiffmeyer closed the gap, 13.5 out.  Team Schumacher (after a big win might be showing some life, but still Forked).  Team Patmann brings in 4th and only 95 points from the division lead.

o   Division B has Team Pfeiffer starting to make a run and gaining a lead and taking over #3 Seed.  Team Kientz, Team Flynn, and Team Buescher are slowly dropping.  (Now there are 72.5 points separating them.).

o   Division C has Team Harms still in the lead and #1 Seed.  Team Anderson (the Shirts) hold #5 Seed and are only 1.5 points out.  Team Vaughn brings in 3rd and picked up ground on the seeded positions.  Team Freeman brings in 4th and gained back their spot at the top of the upside down league points list.

o   Division D has Team Leirey taking the lead and #2 seed.  Team Halpin falls to 2nd place and #6 Seed and 9.5 points out of the lead.  Team Slye brings in 3rd and is still closing in on the lead (58.5 out).   Team Breen comes in 4th.

Current Seeding:

1.     Team Harms

2.     Team Leirey

3.     Team Pfeiffer

4.     Team Bramlage

5.     Team Anderson

6.     Team Halpin

Position Round Predictions:

Division A:

·        Team Bramlage vs. Team Kiffmeyer:  I predict Team Kiffmeyer will finally take the lead from Defending Champs Team Bramlage and we will see Mr. Ed Kiffmeyer dancing on the clubhouse tables as Mr. Ackerman, Warren, & Gindele sing.

·        Team Schumacher vs. Team Patmann:  I predict Team Patmann as the winner as Mr. Bill (complaint committee) Zachritz returns and drives the League President crazy on the course and the informant goes silent.

Division B:

·        Team Pfeiffer vs. Team Kientz:  my prediction is that Team Pfeiffer will continue to expand their lead (and get the recap correct) and send Team Kientz to the division cellar.

·        Team Flynn vs. Team Buescher should be a split as they both move up a position as Team Kientz moves down.

Division C:

·        Team Harms vs. Team Anderson (the shirts):  I see Team Harms taking a big win as Mr. Mike Sullivan starts another win streak and Team Anderson gets their shirts mixed up and drop to 3rd place and out of seeding.

·        Team Vaughn vs. Team Freeman:  should see Team Vaughn making sure that Team Freeman keeps their place on the upside down list and Team Vaughn takes over 2nd place and 6th seed.

Division D:

·        Team Leirey vs. Team Halpin:  I am sort of partial on this but with Jimmy Smith and Rafael Gonzalez back my prediction is Team Halpin destroys Team Leirey (sorry Frank) and takes the division lead back.

·        Team Slye vs. Team Breen:  I will call a split here as Mr. Skin Slye and Mr. Greenie Bachmann both shoot 53 instead of 35 and the Mr. Breen’s both shoot 35 instead of 53.

Heard in the Clubhouse:

What was that Mr. Dale (Long Putt) Goodwin missing the long putt, Mr. Mike Donlin smiling, and Mr. Dale Schaber making the long putt on #9.

Question for the Weak/Thoughts to Ponder:

League President Col. Tom Schu had the following questions:   (Send answers to the Col.)

What?

When?

Where?

Never mind these questions since I was filling in the space until I get the real questions.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams in please bring markers in.
