Condolences
to Don and Pat Buescher’s family. Don’s father-in-law,
Patrick’s grandfather, passed away this past week.
This week we had 6 subs: Izzy Jewell (for Team Kiffmeyer), Jeff Witt
and new sub Brad Ferguson (for Team Buescher), Larry Oliver and Mike Schwarberg
(for Team Kientz), and Melody Oswalt (for Team Leirey).
Treasurer report: Treasurer Chuck Reckers was out this past
week but according to what was collected there are still several players that
owe 2nd half fees. For those
who still owe the team pouches will be in the briefcase to put payment in on
July 13. Any questions on this send an
e-mail to Chuck Reckers at cmjrecke@gmail.com.
Good rounds this week: Front 9 – Bill Zachritz – 39, Wayne Witt –
39, & Back 9 - Ray Vaughn – 36, Tom Schumacher – 38.
Most Under
Average (Sandbagger Award): Wayne Witt (7.6 under average), Jim Fish (5.0
under average).
Most Over Average (Hope to be a
Sandbagger Some Day Award): Tim Andrew (7.4
over average), Sue Kerrick (8.6 over average), Gene Pfeiffer (6.5 over
average), Pat Breen (7.3 over average), and Jake Job-Rivera (5.9 over average).
Gift match of the weak: Jim Bramlage
shoots a 44 (2.4 over average) and defeats Tim Andrew’s 51 (7.4 over
average). Then there is Jake Job-Rivera
shooting a 54 (5.9 over average)(giving 2 strokes)
defeating Pat Breen’s 59 (7.3 over average).
Division Rankings
A Division - Defending Champs Team
Schumacher (3) still holds the lead in division but slid down in the seeding. Team Leirey took over 2nd place
with Team Flynn dropping to third. Team
Donlin came alive and may be ready to make their run (I guess seeing the fork
coming in their direction put some life into them).
B Division - Team Halpin (2) with
another win holds 1st place here and moved up to the second
seed. Team Buescher came alive and jump
up to 2nd place and may be making their run. Team Kiffmeyer fell to third and really need
their team captain. Team Harms is
trailing in fourth and need to bring in a win next week or the fork may find
them.
C Division - Team Zachritz (1) picked
up some ground here and still holds the lead in division and league. Team Kientz
(5) fell a little behind but we will see what happens on position round. Team Bramlage (6) picked up a little ground but
still has a long way to go. Team Freeman
took a big loss and could be a spoiler to their opponents.
D Division – Team Patmann (4) expanded
their lead with Team Breen, Team Anderson and Team Pfeiffer slowly falling
behind. Team Pfeiffer still ranks at the
top of the upside down list.
My predictions on position
round:
A
Division: Team Schumacher falling to Team Leirey, Team Flynn barely notching
out Team Donlin;
B
Division: Team Halpin (with 3 subs)
kicking Team Buescher tail, Team Kiffmeyer (without their leader) falling to
Team Harms;
C
Division: Team Zachritz getting a can of
whoop ass from Team Kientz, Team Bramlage falling to Team Freeman;
D Division: Team Patmann squeaking out a win over Team Breen, Team Anderson getting crushed by Team Pfeiffer.
Seeding: (1) Team Zachritz, (2) Team Halpin, (3) Team
Schumacher, (4) Team Patmann, (5) Team Kientz, (6) Team
Bramlage.
Status
of the almighty Fork: Team Anderson –
week 5; Team Pfeiffer – week 7; Team Freeman – week 9.
On
notice: Team Harms, Team Donlin, Team
Kiffmeyer.
Heard around the
clubhouse:
Heard a lot about 95% of the Birdie putts coming up
short this week. There were only 6 Birdies this week,
the greens were slow. Then I had some of
those missed Birdies myself, most from 90 yards out.
Heard
some talk about getting mulligans. Maybe we could have a buy a mulligan a round
for $2 or $5 or $1 or free if you average is high enough. Still don’t think that will help my game.
Not
much else to say here since my informant has been hushed up. Please Mr. Kerns talk….
Chuckle for the week:
Mr. Bill
Zachritz as head complaint committee………….
And something I found on line.
Golf balls are like eggs. They're white, they are sold by the dozen, and a week later you have to buy more.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt
Most of the regulars and subs in the
league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be
a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse. The sheet will have the names of all the
regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $5.00 entry fee for all games ($3.00 entry fee for
Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt). Place a check mark for each category for which
you are participating. If the Briefcase
is not out notate on your scorecard your
intent to play and pay when you complete your match. First teams out please take the markers, last
teams in please bring markers in.
Always
read the fine print.
