IRS Golf League Newsletter – July 3, 2013

Another reminder that final dues/green fees are past due for some.  Captains, please remind your team mates that still owe to please bring their payment to the next play.  Those who still owe: the final payment is $124.

Welcome to new sub player Shawn Burns, who subbed for Team Harms.

Get well to Matt Donlin.  Matt was ready to play and had to leave before teeing off.  Hope you are okay.

Seems like someone had left some cupcakes at the clubhouse and no one knew who they belonged to.  Then there was a lot of cheer around the table that Team Leirey was at.  It seems that Mary Jo Leirey was celebrating her 25th or maybe 26th Birthday (I thought she was younger than that).  Since no one claimed the cupcakes, Mary Jo was willing to accept them and thank who ever left them.

Then Team Anderson was at it again to prove to Mr. Spaeth that they can still catch every drop of beer on the table before it goes flat or on the floor.  It seems like it would be easier to just pour it into a cup.  They still are the fastest at soaking up all the beer on the table. ?!!????

This past week team Schumacher made an attempt to get out of the basement.  Congratulations to Kevin Schumacher on a real nice round, helping them get started, but the fork still remains Colonel.

Team Freeman faltered this week and moved to 3rd in D Division, but not far out from 1st.   Team C. Halpin (1st) and Team Pfeiffer (2nd) surpassed the 500 point mark but are not that far out in front of Team Freeman.

There are a couple of other teams that it looks like it’s time they receive the fork:  Team Bunkelman has now earned the honor of the fork for bringing in the bottom of Division C; Team Leirey earns the honor for bringing in last place in A Division; and Team Kientz has earned this honor in Division B for failure to properly use a can of whoop-ass (reversed) that Team C. Halpin had left on Mr. Kientz cart (sorry Chuck).  On thin ice and close to the fork are Team Kiffmeyer (it’s not Aug 14 yet?) and Team Patmann.   Both might want to check the League Yard Sale items for a partially used can of whoop-ass which was left over from several years ago.

Summary of the Forked:

May:  Team Schumacher.

June:  Team Harms.

July:  Team Bunkelman, Team Leirey, Team Kientz.

Then finally, Mr. Feldman was out so there is no Thoughts (wisdumb) from Mr. Feldman this week.  Mr. Ed Miller attempted to fill in for him, but those thoughts were so good that I luckily forgot them all.  Lucky for everyone.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.
