IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 10 - June 30, 2021

Congratulations go to Jay Ackerman for chipping in for an Eagle on hole #16.  Jay finds himself the big money winner this week with 2 skins, the Eagle pot, and Long Putt winner on #18.

Treasurer Chuck Reckers reports that there are still 16 regulars that are due second half League Fees.  Second half payment is $136.  This was adjusted for the 1st week rain-out.  Team Pouches will be in the clubhouse to put payments in.  Any questions on this can be directed to Chuck.

Wish to thank all the teams for completing the recap sheets.  However, after not doing them since 2019 season, there were a several of them with errors.   Most of the errors were on which holes to give handicap.  Reminder that if white tee is giving strokes to yellow tee then use the gold handicap holes, if yellow tee giving to yellow tee then use the gold handicap holes, if yellow tee is giving to white tee then use the black handicap holes, and if white tee is giving to white tee then use the black handicap holes.  By the way there were some math errors on a few.  Hope that is not the folks that review my tax returns.  From what I hear is that Erich Kientz will help anyone needing assistance on completing the recap sheets.

Subs this week were:  Don Tobler (for Team Anderson); Mary Jo Leirey (for Team Anderson); Steve Ruehl (for Team Breen); Dave Vincent (for Team Breen); Jeff Witt (for Team Halpin); Jeff Barnhorst (for Team Schumacher); Mike Iker (for Team Schumacher); Carol Goldstone (for Team Zachritz); new sub Dave Bodde (for Team Leirey); and Don Bazsika (for Team Bachmann). Thanks for being there.

League President’s Weakly Passage (Compliments of League President Tom Schumacher):

Seems Col. Schu was totally missing from the course this week.  He is on vacation in Tennessee.  A short blurb in an Email I received from him on June 29th: “Everyone here having a good time. Lifted weights this morning. Went Pontoon boating this afternoon. Out to dinner shortly (we're on Central Time. Golf tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM. I will play a match against my son-in-law Uncle Keith and his 2 sons Conner and Casey. They will play a 3 man scramble and post 1 score versus my score each hole.  Should be fun.”

NEWSFLASH!!!

Team Schumacher officially remains "ON THE KIFF!!!"

Without their team captain, Team Schumacher is faltering badly.  Realistically, actually, they definitely, remain “On the Kiff.”
