IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter
Week 10 – June 29,
2016
A lot
happening this week. The skins/greenie/long putt pot was correct
this week. Thanks for getting it
straight.
Good news was Alan Berger on the
course this week. Good to see him
playing while struggling with ALS. Hope
to see him playing again. For those
still wishing to help support the ALS Association Walk to Defeat ALS there is a
donation envelope in the briefcase to make contributions.
Welcome back to Larry
Bunkelman. Larry was in town and
available to sub. Talk had it that
someone on Team Halpin (FS) had him come in just to defeat Team Kientz (can of
whoop-ass). Was good seeing Larry again
and thanks for helping us get the win.
Hope to see you again on the course.
Congratulations go out to Sherrill
Swann. Sherrill will be joining the
retired ranks effective July 1 after 35 years of service. Enjoy your leisure time and let’s get some
more golf in.
This week we had 4 subs: Jeff Witt & Terry Buelow (for Team
Buescher), Larry Oliver (for Team Kiffmeyer), and Larry Bunkelman (for Team
Halpin).
Thanks go to Terry Buelow. Terry only came by see Larry Bunkelman and Team
Buescher had a vacant player. Terry was
willing to play and managed to be the only winner for Team Buescher.
Update on Mr. Ed Kiffmeyer: Ed is in
rehab and will be released to his home on July 2. This is good news as his recovery is going
very well. Hope to see him at the course
soon.
Treasurer report from Treasurer
Chuck Reckers: There are 50 players current with dues and 14 players still
outstanding on second half dues. For
those who still owe the team pouches will be in the briefcase to put payment in
on July 6. Any questions on this send an
e-mail to Chuck at cmjrecke@gmail.com.
I received the free 9-hole green fee
cards this week. The cards are good for
a 9-hole play at California Golf Course only.
I will have these in an envelope for the Team Captains to give to each
regular.
Here are the tee times for the July
13th position round (opposite of the 1st position round)
if no rain out next week. I’ll have a
sheet at the clubhouse to make the placings.

Division Rankings
A Division - Defending Champs Team
Schumacher (2) is still on a slow gallop and holding on to 1st place
here. Team Flynn lost a little steam with
Team Leirey starting to make their run.
Team Donlin is falling or flailing and is on notice that the Fork is
getting ready.
B Division - Team Halpin (3) after
having Mr. Bunkelman brought in to defeat Team Kientz is holding onto the
lead. Team Kiffmeyer pulled in a nice
win to put themselves in the competition again (Mr. Kiffmeyer must have gave
them a lecture). Team Buescher and Team
Harms bring in third & fourth with only 1 point separating them.
C Division - Team Zachritz (1)
jumped into the lead (division and league) (don’t know how after Mr. Bill’s
gift match) with Team Kientz (5) falling after having Mr. Bunkelman take them
down. Team Bramlage (6) lost some ground
this week but are still in the hunt. Team Freeman put the hurt on Team Buescher
and brings in last here and are trying to show some
life, maybe the Fork motivated them some, but they remain Forked.
D Division – Team Patmann (4) jumped
back into the lead here after a big win.
Team Breen dropped to second with Team Anderson (bringing in their
ringer Mr. Alan Berger) losing some ground.
Team Pfeiffer still brings in the bottom and still has the honors of
being on top of the upside down list.
Seeding: (1) Team Zachritz, (2) Team Schumacher, (3)
Team Halpin, (4) Team Patmann, (5) Team Kientz, (6) Team
Bramlage.
Status
of the almighty Fork: Team Anderson –
week 5; Team Pfeiffer – week 7; Team Freeman – week 9.
Heard around the
clubhouse:
I
had a problem trying to catch everything that was being said, but I caught parts
of a lot of conversations, so here goes.
The league president was back this week but Mr. Chris Kerns (aka
informant) must have had his clubs bent out of shape to quite him down (could
be his swing was broken by someone on Team Breen).
Then
Mr. Farlon Smith brings Larry Bunkelman in town from Florida to line him up
with a car, only to convince him to sub on Team Halpin so his team can beat
Team Kientz. Wow I have some great team
mates.
Best
one was Mr. Dale Goodwin informing everyone of the gift match he received from
Mr. Bill Zachritz.
You
know you are having a bad golf day when you realize on the 3rd hole
that you forgot to put on your golf shoes, then right
after that your only golf glove falls apart.
Chuckle for the week:
This
coming from Mr. Don Buescher: Alright,
an Irish guy walks out of a bar and…….Really it can happen.
So
here is one for Mr. McBuescher: paddy English man,
Irish, & Scots are on a train compartment together with a hot babe & an
old dear. The train goes through a tunnel.........SMACK!!!!!!!! Train emerges
from tunnel paddy English man has been decked is on the floor holding his
smacked puss. Hot babe thinks "he just felt up the old dear thinking it
was me & she decked him". Old dear thinks "he just felt up that
young girl & she decked him ". Paddy Irish man thinks "I can’t
wait til the next tunnel so I can smack that English
bollix again"
