IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 09 – June 21, 2023

Timing this week was good on the front nine with all teams finishing in under 2 hours 15 minutes.  Back nine had a slow down again which we need to try and pick up the pace back there.

Course management is trying to get us moving as soon as the tee box opens, which sometimes is a few minutes earlier than our set time.  It is best for our league if everyone arrives at the course early and can be at the tee box 5 to 10 minutes prior to their tee time.

Second half season Dues/Green fees are due on June 28 for those who paid partial at beginning of the season.  Second half payment is $196.00, make check payable to ‘IRS Golf League’ and pouches will be in the clubhouse.  Any questions on this should be directed to League Treasurer Chuck Reckers.

Team Vaughn did it again and are now 9 wins no losses with half the season over.  Can they go wire-to-wire?

Congratulations to Kevin Bachmann on shooting a 35 (par) on the back nine from the Blue Tees.

Division play between A Division versus C Division, and B Division versus D Division has ended.  Next will be A Division versus D Division, and B Division versus C Division.  Currently B Division and D Division are posting the most points (1700+), while A Division and C Division and lagging behind in points (1500+).

Several years ago, or in the not-too-distant past, there was some fine print in the newsletter to help amuse Mr. Bill Zachritz, who for some reason lacks amusement.  It is always best to read the fine print on everything there is.  ___Hi Mr. Bill Zachritz, No I in Team.__

Reminder on the schedule containing two tee times for the teams versus the Vacant team.  All tee times following Team 12 on the regular schedule will be moved up one time earlier.  This will be posted on the website each week on the newsletter tab for the following week and sent via e-mail.

The Skins/Greenies/Long Putt 2nd half payment, and those wishing to enter the games for the 2nd half of the season was due by June 21 for the 2nd half of regular season play (this would be for games on June 28 through August 23).   The League Secretary, Charles Halpin will accept renewals/new entries prior to play on June 28th, by 2:45 p.m.   After that the games entries will be closed.  All games (last nine weeks) are $45.00, or Skins $27, Greenies $9.00, Long Putt $9.00).  Payment for games to Charles Halpin either cash or check.

Team Halpin played versus the Vacant Team 12 this week.  Team 4 was pulled out of the hat and Team Halpin did quite bad.

For those teams playing versus vacant Team 12 see League Secretary to pull a team number out of the hat.  Note: The 3 possibilities are Team 4, 8, or 16.
