IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 9 – June 19, 2019

Some of our teams were not able to complete all nine holes this past week due to the storms and some slow play.  Back nine: Team Halpin vs Team Kientz were only able to complete 8 holes, while Team Bachmann vs Team Freeman were only able to complete 7 holes.

Due to the Back nine not completing all holes Skins and Long Putt games that back nine players were in will be given a credit for next time they play (Skins $3, Long Putt $1).  Greenies on the back nine were completed by all teams and winners will be awarded.  Credits will be listed on the Games Sign-up sheet.

Front nine all teams completed all nine holes.  Skins and Greenies were awarded.

Long Putt on the front nine was originally claimed by an individual that was not in the games.  Since no other names were on the placard, players on the front nine that were in the games for long putt will be given a $1 credit.

Reminder that if you do not pay to enter the games do not place your name on the placards for Greenies/Long Putt as this robs it from someone else, especially when you are in one of the first groups.

If playing in the Skins/Greenies/Long Putt games and you are not able to put in before you tee off, notify the other team that you are in, annotate on your score card, and come in after the round to pay and mark your name off.

Second half green fees are due next week, June 26th.  Treasurer Chuck Reckers has sent what players owe to the team captains, 2nd payment was adjusted to $119 unless otherwise noted.  Team pouches will be in the briefcase for payment.  Make checks payable to IRS Golf League.

I am still preaching about slow play.  Remember there is a league after us, and when bad weather is looming it would be nice to speed up play so all our teams can finish their matches.  So, play ready golf, limit searching for missing balls, and double par plus 1 and pick up.

This past week we had 11 subs:   Jeff Barnhorst (Team Pfeiffer), Kelly Johnson (Team Schumacher), Tom Berns (Team Vaughn), Ken Kostas (Team Kiffmeyer), Mary Jo Leirey (Team Leirey), Dave Martin (Team Flynn), Shari Anderson (Team Harms), Charlie Olliges (Team Bramlage), Brad Ferguson (Team Buescher), Steve Ruehl (Team Freeman), and Kevin Dyhouse (Team Freeman).  Thanks for being there.
