IRS Golf League Newsletter – June 19, 2013

Position round results:

Team Zachritz vs Team Flynn:  Team Flynn takes the match and the lead in A Division.

Team Kiffmeyer vs Team Leirey:  Team Leirey takes the match and moved Team Kiffmeyer closer to the bottom of A Division.

Team Anderson vs Team Breen:  Team Breen takes the match and a slim lead in B Division.

Team Kientz vs Team Harms:  Team Kientz takes the match and widens the lead over Team Harms in B Division.

Team Bramlage vs Team Donlin:  Team Donlin takes the match and a slim lead in C Division.  This Division is running close together.

Team Patmann vs Team Bunkelman:  Team Patmann takes the match leaving Team Bunkelman in the basement of C Division and Team Patmann ties with Team Bramlage on points.

Team Freeman vs Team C. Halpin:  Team C. Halpin takes the match (Team Freeman’s 2nd loss of the season) and closes in on leader Team Freeman in D Division.

Team Pfeiffer vs Team Schumacher:  Team Pfeiffer takes the match and almost seals the fate of Team Schumacher at the bottom of D Division.

Reminder that the final dues/green fees will be due on June 26.  Final payment for most should be $139.50 payable to IRS Golf League.   An e-Mail was sent to team captains on number of members and amount due.

Another good week for birdies and some really good scores too.   There were several chip-in for pars that had an impact on outcome of some rounds.  Mike Donlin was taken down by Joe Devereux with 5 par holes with one being a chip in.  Pat Breen took down Tim Feldman with a chip in on #1 and setting the tone for the rest of the match.  And I myself was mercilessly taken down by Sherrill Swann after she chipped in on 14.  If only I had a white flag after that.

Team Schumacher retook the bottom of the list and the fork was twisted and turned.  Team Harms was trying to show signs of life but need team captain Pat Harms to return.   Team Kientz remains on thin ice and the fork is drawing so near.

Team Freeman after falling to Team C. Halpin is still in the lead in the league.  I am told that John Freeman will be back next week and just in time to add fresh life to his team.

Mr. Spaeth was up to his shenanigans at the 19th hole again.  This week he emptied his beer cup on the table so he could see if Team Anderson could mop it up quick enough to fill their cups.  Sure enough Team Anderson wins on saving every drop of beer.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.
