Week 08 – June 14, 2023

Let’s start this off with a big congratulations to Team Kientz and Team Kiffmeyer finishing their front nine round in 2 hours (fantastic).  Followed by Teams Broadus, Bill Anderson, Zachritz, Bachmann, Crouch, and Bramlage finishing in 2 hours 15 minutes (wonderful).

On the back nine Team Flynn vs Vacant team finished in 2 hours 5 minutes (fantastic).  Followed by Team Harms and Team Snowden A & B players finishing in 2 hours (fantastic).  Looks like the Team Harms & Team Snowden C & D players fell apart on this as they took 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete their round making all the following teams late getting in.  This caused a snowball effect for the leagues following us.

Congratulations to all the teams trying their hardest to speed up play.

Shame to the player/players slowing down the round by not being ready to hit their ball, playing ready golf, limiting time to search for lost balls, picking up after double par plus one, limit throwing clubs, etc.  Course management will be watching play and if falling behind may have teams skip holes.  In this case League Rules Exhibit III Completed Matches would be used for scoring the skipped hole/holes.  I hope the Team Captains and all teammates will help enforce the speed of play.

Due to the schedule containing two tee times for the teams versus the Vacant team all tee times following Team 12 on the regular schedule will be moved up one time earlier.  Each week this will be posted on the website on the newsletter tab for the following week and also sent via e-mail. 

Another accolade goes out to Team Vaughn as they are now 8 wins no losses and running away with the points at 501. 

Team Zachritz finally got their 1st win of the season but remained Forked (done is done Mr. Bill). 

Ed Kiffmeyer got his first win of the season, must be thanks to his repaired eyes.

This past week we had 10 subs playing:  

Restricted sub:  Mike Schwarberg (Team Kientz), Denny Solomon (Team Halpin), and Tom Berns (Team Vaughn).

Subs: Terry Boland (Team Bachmann), Dave Waggonner (Team Crouch), Frank Leirey (Team Bramlage), Joe Bramlage (Team Bramlage), Don Bazsika (Team Snowden), Greg Arkle (Team Harms), and new sub Mike Kadivnik (Team Bill Anderson).  Thanks for being there.

 

Reminder that Skins/Greenies/Long Putt 2nd half payment is due by June 21 for the 2nd half of regular season play (this would be for games on June 28 through August 23).   This will also be open to regulars wishing to enter the games (all games are $45.00, or Skins $27, Greenies $9.00, Long Putt $9.00).  Payment for games to Charles Halpin either cash or check.

Team Flynn played versus the Vacant Team 12 this week.  They pulled Team 16 out of the hat and did quite well.  For those teams playing versus vacant Team 12 see League Secretary to pull a team number out of the hat.  Note: The 3 possibilities are Team 4, 8, or 16.
