IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 7 – June 5, 2019

Some of our teams were not able to complete all nine holes this past week due to the storms.  Back nine: Team Freeman vs Team Bramlage were only able to complete 8 holes, while Team  Breen vs Team Kientz were only able to complete 7 holes.  Front nine all teams completed all nine holes.  Due to the Back nine not completing all holes Skins and Long Putt games that back nine players were in will be given a credit for next time they play.  Greenies on the back nine were completed by all teams and winners will be awarded.  Credits will be listed on the Games Sign-up sheet.

I received the 9-hole green fee certificates this past week.  Envelopes for the teams with certificates will be in the briefcase next week.  Certificates are for the 4 regular players on each team.

Second half green fees are due by June 26th.  Treasurer Chuck Reckers will be getting out the payment due to the team captains.  Team pouches will be in the briefcase for payment.

Still preaching about slow play.  Remember there is a league after us so play ready golf, limit searching for missing balls, and double par plus 1 and pick up.

This past week we had 7 subs:   Vinny Consola (Team Kiffmeyer), Greg Arkle (Team Harms), Kelly Johnson (Team Schumacher), Tom Berns (Team Vaughn), Brad Ferguson (Team Buescher) new sub Kevin Dyhouse (Team Buescher), and Mark Anderson (Team Kientz).  Thanks for being there.

Good Rounds:

Front Nine:  Jim Grassinger – 37, Dick Flynn 38, Jay Ackerman – 39, and Ray Vaughn – 39.

Back Nine:  Kevin Bachmann - 39.

Most under/over average (5+/-) (Sandbagger of the Weak):

Under:

Lori Johnson – shoots 51 (6.2 under average).  Wow******

Don Buescher – shoots 42 (5.0 under average).  Wow*****

Over:

Sherrill Swann – shoots 63 (7.5 over average).  Oooooooch!!!!!!!

Andy Proeschel - shoots 57 (6.0 over average).  Ooooooch!!!!!!

Status of the Almighty Fork:

The Fork has found some done meat.  This is probably the 1st year in recent history that Team Schumacher isn’t the 1st team to get Forked.  Receiving the Fork is Team Leirey and Team Pfeiffer.  Both teams can’t get out the gate and are still searching for their 1st win.  On notice is Team Patmann.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out, notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams in please bring markers in.
