IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter
Week 7 – June 10, 2015
Another nice week for golf. A reminder on any gripes about the course, go
to the CRC web site at www.california.cincygolf.org “Give us
your feedback” to complete a brief survey.
A Division still has Team Buescher in the lead after
suffering a loss with Team Zachritz closing in on them. Team Anderson suffered a big loss but is
still hanging in there. Team Kiffmeyer
saved their selves from the fork with a big win, but still has a lot of ground
to pick up.
B Division has Team Donlin still in the lead after suffering
a big loss, with Team Pfeiffer and Team Bramlage both with big wins closing in
on them. Team Freeman had a good win but
still has a lot of ground to catch up on to get out of the bottom.
C Division Team Leirey suffered a loss but is still in the lead
in the Division and League with Team Patmann still sitting in second
place. Team Harms moved up to 3rd
in division and Team Schumacher (forked) returned to bottom of the division.
D Division had Team Flynn win and hold 1st place
in division. Team Kientz moved up to 2nd
after suffering a loss and Team Halpin with a big loss moving down. Team Breen is in command of the upside down
list and is hereby forked.
Okay I had the word of caution last week, seems this week
there is another Word of Caution: From
what I heard at the clubhouse, seems Mr. Zachritz on his drive on #18 embedded
his ball in a tree about head high. Word
of advice is to not be in front of him when he is hitting the ball. Recommended safe yardage should be 450 yards.
We had 8 subs this week.
Subs this week were Brian Smith, Cliff Kuhn, Melody Oswalt, Bill
Holocher, Shari Anderson, David Howell, Mike Schwarberg, and new sub Dave
Randle.
Good scores this week were:
Front: Steve Duddey - 38; and Back: Bill Holocher – 35 and Jeff Witt - 39.
Most under average at 5+ under average (Looks like I started something here):
Sherrill Swann shoots 49 (7.5 under average), Toni Brewer shoots 49 (7.5 under
average), and Ed Kiffmeyer shoots 44 (6.1 under average). Side note: Overall there were 42 players at
or below their average, but only 32 winners.
Gift match of the week:
Cliff Kuhn shoots 3 over average and giving 1 stroke and wins by 4 over Tom
Bishop.
There were 9 Birdies this week, 6 on the front and 3 on the
back.
One other thing heard in the clubhouse from Mr. Jeff Witt
about all the comedians out of work and the humor he gets from this
newsletter. Seems he thinks the author
of this newsletter is to blame for all of the comedians’ unemployment. Well Mr. Witt, I think those comedians should
take up golf and write newsletters for a living. It also helps to have a sic mind, I thinks.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt
Most of the regulars and subs in the
league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For
those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the
tables in the clubhouse.
The
sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for
subs to write in their names.
$3.00
entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt ($5.00 for all). Place
a check mark for each category for which you are participating. If the Briefcase is not out notate on your
scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match. First
teams out please take the markers, last teams in please bring markers in.
