IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 6 – June 3, 2020

Good news:  We get to play every week now.  California Course will let us play each week with the only change being our starting tee time will be 3:30 p.m. and tee times will run every 10 minutes.  Tee times will be 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:10, 4:20; 4:30, and 4:40.  Social distancing is still in effect.   Reminder to play ready golf since there are leagues after us.

Starting tee times for each week will be posted on the web on the Newsletter tab for each week of play.   Tee times following Vacant Team 12 on the schedule will move up 10 minutes.

Green fees and cart fees are still being paid by the league treasurer Chuck Reckers.  For those okay with riding 2 in a cart with teammates that is now acceptable.   For those who said they will walk but wish to change to walk front and ride back you need to let the league treasurer Chuck Reckers know by Tuesdays 6 p.m. so he can update his records and notify the course on number of carts we will need.  If a player wants to commit to ride the back or both sides, Chuck will update his records and collect the cart fees as part of the second installment in mid to late July.  Reminder that no changing your mind at the course.

This past week we had 60 golfers.  Team 12 is still a vacant team so if you know of any folks wishing to play regular to fill the open team let the secretary, treasurer or league president know.  Until vacant team is filled teams playing against Team 12 will play and at the end of play pull a number out of the hat to determine who their opponent is.  This past week Team Breen played the vacant team and pulled out Team 8 number.  June 10th Team Leirey versus the vacant team (see the secretary after play to pull team number).

Welcome to our new regular players this year.   Rick McErlane on Team Bachmann, Chris Bunge on Team Leirey, Cindy Ellsworth on Team Buescher, Bill Anderson on Team Buescher, and Tom Berns as restricted sub on Team Vaughn.

Subs this past week:  Mike Schwarberg (Team Kientz), new sub Mike Wallace (Team Harms), and new sub Don Tobler (Team Anderson).  Thanks for being there.

Speaking of subs, just a reminder that we had a rule change this year on the tees for men.  All men are to play from the white tees unless they get an exception to play the forward tees.  When you first line up a sub make sure they know to play the white tees unless they have approval to play the forward tees.  Approval request need Rules Committee review prior to play.  Subs approved to play  the forward tees are listed on the Sub Average list with a (fwt) next to their name.
