IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter - May 28, 2014

Looks like the threat of storms was just that and the bad weather held off and we were able to get in the make-up match from May 14.

This was another week of some good scores and not so good.  Again I was in the not so good.   Medalist was Larry Bunkelman’s 39 on the front and Ray Vaughn’s 39 on the back.  Of special note: Ray chipped in for a birdie on #17.  There were 17 birdies overall (10 on the front and 7 on the back).

Team Anderson is still on a winning streak.  This may have something to do with their team spirit.  Seems like they have matching team shirts (powder blue) which I think distracted everyone on the course.   Team Freeman is still looking for a win, maybe they can get some advice from Team Anderson (Mr. Feldman always has some words of wisdumb).

Now that it is the end of May it is time to fork Team Schumacher (sorry Mr. Fredrickson).  Next on the list is Team Patmann (they need their A game next week to save themselves).

Division leaders are: A Division – Team Donlin, B Division – Team Breen, C Division – Team Bunkelman, and D Division – Team Anderson.

We had 7 subs this past week.  Subs were Greg Arkle, Clayton Doty, Bob Norris, Dan Varndell, Jeff Witt, Melody Oswalt, and E. John Thomas.  Thanks for being there.

And the following is from League President Tom Schumacher:

Question of the Weak (Tom Schumacher was the only one with all the correct answers.)

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match. First teams out please take the markers, last teams please bring markers in.
