IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week  5 – May 22, 2024

Another week that the weather cooperated.  No rain until late in the evening.

An issue came up on Hole #11:  Hole 11 has an area on the right side of the fairway near the location of a tee shot that has high grass and mesh to help with the growth of grass.  This will be designated as “ground under repair” and if your ball comes to rest in this area, please take a free drop behind this area no closer to the hole.

We are still looking to fill Team 16, need 4 permanent regulars (they would be 3rd place in D Division).  Now would be the best time to fill the team.

The subs playing this week: Mick McMullen (Team Flynn), Scott Dorstin (Team Bill Anderson), Bob Norris (Team Brian Anderson), Mike Turner (Team Ellsworth), Jeff Tom (Team Broadus), Phil Hurley & Otto Terrell (Team Zachritz).

This week Team Buescher vs Team 16.  They pulled Team 12 and had a big win.  Next week Team Ellsworth on position round will compare recap to 2nd place team in D Division.

POSITION ROUND PICK THE WINNERS

May 29th is our first position round.  Secretary predictions are there will be lead changes in the A and C Divisions.  B Division and D Division leads are pretty much safe.

Secretary predictions of winning teams:

-A Division I predict Team Bachmann coming out victorious versus defending League Champs Team Flynn, and Team Vaughn  barely beating Team Crouch;

-B Division I predict Team Broadus winning easily over Team Buescher, and Team Halpin/Scott (partiality here) winning over Team Brian Anderson;

-C Division I predict Team Kientz taking down Team Bill Anderson, and Team Kiffmeyer barely winning over Team Harms;

-D Division I predict Team Bramlage victorious over Team Zachritz after a slug fest, and Team Ellsworth falling to the vacant Team 16 (2nd place D Division team).

**The secretary has one dozen experienced golf balls for anyone who can pick all the winning teams.  Entries must be received prior to play on Wednesday May 29 (see fine print).  More than one individual guessing all right teams, names will be pulled out of the hat.  All entries must be received prior-to-play on May 29, 2024.  League Secretary reserves the right to change the rules at his discretion.  Eligibility is open to all regulars, restricted subs, subs, and those who were members of the league, again at the discretion of the League Secretary.  Only 1 entry per individual.  Bogus entries will be discretely disposed of.  Any disputes on the rules of this will be discarded.  The chances of winning this is 1 in a bazillion maybe.
