IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter

Week 3 – May 2, 2018

Thanks to all for getting the Skins/Greenies/Long Putt pot straight.  No shortage this week.

Heads up for road work/construction on I-275 from the bridge to Four Mile.  News has it that it will start around mid-May and last until 2020.  There will probably be a lot of delays so watch for when it starts and plan to head out earlier to the course.

Treasure Chuck Reckers reports that all regulars are current on dues/green fees and thanks everyone.

Subs this week were:  Mike Schwarberg & new sub Jim Conrad (for Team Leirey), new sub Ken Kostas (for Team Kiffmeyer), Dan Varndell & new sub Glenn Perry (for Team Vaughn), Shari Anderson (for Team Harms), Jeff Barnhorst (for Team Schumacher), Don Bazsika & new sub Bill Anderson (for Team Freeman).  To the new subs welcome to the league.  Thanks to all for being there.

We had two no shows this week.  If last minute you are looking for a sub, please call Secretary Charlie Halpin, as I might have some good sub contacts for short notice.

We still have a card for those who didn’t get to sign it for Terry Jolly from AJ Jolly Golf Course.  He will be retiring this year after 40+ years of service.  Terry has always run a great course for our Outing.

Division Standings:

Division A has Team Anderson still in the lead with Defending League Champs Team Bramlage at the bottom but off the top of the upside down list.  Division B has Team Harms holding their lead.  Division C has Team Schumacher holding their lead with Team Pfeiffer on top of the upside-down list.  Division D has Team Buescher taking the lead away from Team Freeman.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt

Most of the regulars and subs in the league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the tables in the clubhouse.  The sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for subs to write in their names. $3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and $1.00 entry fee for Long Putt.  Place a check mark or X for each category for which you are participating.  If the Briefcase is not out notate on your scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match.  First teams out please take the markers, last teams in please bring markers in.
