IRS Wednesday Golf League Newsletter
Week 2 – May 6, 2015
Finally some hot weather, another
good week for golf.
A Division sees Team Buescher taking
the lead away from Team Anderson. Might have something to do with Larry (87) Bunkelman subbing for
Team Buescher vs. Team Freeman.
Team Halpin will be using Larry next week hoping to get a win. That will be Larry’s last time with us before
he leaves for Florida. So anyone not
having a chance to say farewell to Larry on Friday, May 8, at O’Neal’s Tavern, stop
by the clubhouse and bid him farewell.
B Division saw Team Pfeiffer take
the lead from Team Donlin. Team Pfeiffer
took a big win from Team Kiffmeyer (the fork is being sharpened).
C Division with Team Leirey leading
is bringing in the most points vs. D Division.
Team Schumacher (the fork is being sharpened).
D Division is struggling. Team Flynn has a slight lead over Team
Breen. Team Halpin is still hoping for a
win and next week will be our week (can’t fork myself).
This past week we had 13 subs and
one regular no show. Just a reminder
that if something comes up and you need a sub and don’t know who to call, give
me a call, and hopefully I can give you some numbers to call. We still have some subs willing to come out
and play.
We had several new subs this
week. New subs were: Dave Helfer, Chet Wiggins, Don Bazsika, and
David Howell. Welcome to the IRS
League.
Returning subs were: Greg Arkle, Melody Oswalt, Terry Buelow, Johnny
Lloyd, Mike Schwarberg, Will Freeman, E. John Thomas, John Kaufhold, and Larry
(87) Bunkelman.
Just a note that new sub David
Howell tells me he is a photographer on the side and is available if anyone
needs photo work done. Maybe we can get
him to take some photos of the Team Kientz yard sale items.
Chuck Reckers reports that all
members are current on their dues and green fees. He wishes to express (shout out) a big THANKS
TO ALL.
Good scores this week were: Front: Tom Schumacher – 37, Don Potter – 38,
Greg Arkle – 39, Dave Helfer – 39; Back: Bill Zachritz – 39.
There were 8 Birdies this week, 4 on
the front and 4 on the back. Only 2 of
those won
Skins, plus 2 pars won Skins.
Gift match of the week: Tom Schumacher gets 18 points plus 4 medal
verses a no show.

Skins—Greenies—Long Putt
Most of the regulars and subs in the
league know about Skins, Greenies, and Long Putt. For
those that do not, each week there will be a sheet and a box on one of the
tables in the clubhouse.
The
sheet will have the names of all the regulars and blank lines at the bottom for
subs to write in their names.
$3.00 entry fee for Skins; $1.00 entry fee for Greenies and
$1.00 entry fee for Long Putt. Place
a check mark for each category for which you are participating. If the Briefcase is not out notate on your
scorecard your intent to play and pay when you complete your match. First teams out please take the markers, last
teams in please bring markers in.
