IRS Wednesday Golf
League Newsletter
Week
1 – April 28, 2021
Good to see everyone back for another year. Bad news was we were unable to get 5 holes
completed by all teams. With the storms
and a long delay before we could finish the rounds it was decided by the team
captains to call a rain out. My thanks
go to Don Buescher for gathering the Team Captains and spearheading a quick
meeting to decide to play or call a rain-out. This match will be made up on
June 2nd.
For all those who were in the Skins/Greenies/Long
Putt games a credit will be applied for next play. For those who played I wish to thank you as
the funds were correct.
Dues/Green
Fees: Treasurer Chuck Reckers reports that 53 players are current on Dues/Fees. He wishes to thank all those who are paid. 1st team to be full paid honors goes to Team Vaughn. Another 1st is Jim Bramlage for what must be
the 1st time he has paid before the league started. For those who still owe payment can be mailed
to Chuck, his home address is 5641 Glen Oak, Mason, Ohio 45040. Make checks payable to IRS Golf League.
Seen on the course was Larry
(84) Bunkelman. It was good seeing him
visit.
Team Sue&Sherrill now
have a new Team Captain. Jim Hill will
be the Team Captain, but team name will stay as Sue&Sherrill. Welcome back Jim.
Almost forgot to mention
Bill Kurtz (86 years old) is back to play on Team Bramlage. Welcome back.
Subs
that I knew were there was:
·
Jeff Witt (for Team
Flynn) Thanks to Jeff for short notice to play as he was already at the course.
·
Vinny Castrigano
(for Team Buescher) Vinny last played for the League in 2013, welcome
back. He is available to sub when
needed.
·
Mike Schwarberg
(for Team Schumacher).
·
Greg Arkle (for
Team Harms).
·
Mark Finnegan (new
sub for Team Harms).
I do want to mention about
slow play. Not for sure of the teams
ahead of my grouping but we were waiting on every tee box this week. I am sure without the delays we would have
been able to complete our 5th hole and called it a complete round
for the league. So as a reminder try and
play ready golf, limit hunting for lost balls, and hopefully help each other,
even opponents, by keeping an eye on where everyone hits their ball to cut down
on looking for wayward balls.
